Crustaceans and Echinoderms.

                             Crustaceans.

Echinoderms.

* The similarities between Crustaceans and Echinoderms is that they both have bilateral symmetry when the Echinoderm is in the larvae stage.

Signs Of Spring. :)

SITE #1

So, we walked outside to try and find signs of spring. The first place we stopped at was in a field behind the school. You can't really see it to well in my picture, but i found little flower buds that where starting to grow. There was also green leaves. Ignore the ugly water bottle that someone littered with. :( The second picture you see is a deer print. Christa, Kim, and I found it. :) Except Christa found it first. :) good eye Christa. :) While we where at our first site, i heard the wind blowing and bird's chirping. :) It felt very, very cold, and the wind wasn't helping any. :(
SITE #2

This is site two. We stopped at the pond. The water was pretty that day. In my picture is pollen.
                                                                         SITE #4

This is site four. In my picture there is red flower buds. They where really pretty. There was a lot of trees too. They all had buds growing. yay, spring is coming. :) In this site i heard class mates laughing and talking, and cars in the distance, and the wind blowing. It was still pretty cold and the wind was still blowing. But there was a few warm spots where there wasn't any shade. So that was our last site for the day, and we finally went back into the warm school. :)

plankton wars / algae in the cupboard.

This was mine and Christa's Plankton. It was made out of Plato, filter paper, straws, a rock, a flag, and we gave him little eye balls. The reason ours won is because one, we are awesome! :) But really it was probably because we didn't have to much on it to weigh it down quickly. I think that the filter paper helped a lot because it slowly soaked in the water. Also the straws helped keep its strucutre. We didnt have to take anything off for it to sink. Its funny that we won, because ours was so simple. But i guess simple is sometimes best. But props to Autom and Katelynn for their beautiful mermaid. :)

plankton observations.

It is a Zooplankton, because it is an animal. It is Holoplankton, because it is plankton for its entire life. It would be classified as a Macro in its size.

It is a Zooplankton, because it is an animal. It is a Meroplankton, because it is temporarily plankton for part of its life. It would be classified as Macro in its size.

It is a Zooplankton, because it is an animal. It is a Holoplankton, because it remains plankton its entire life. It would be classified as Micro for its size, it is very small.

It is Phytoplankton, because it is a plant, its green and contains chlorophyll. It is Holoplankton, because it remains plankton for its entire life. It would be classified as Micro in its size.

site observations day two.

We left the school to go outside to go on an adventure. The first thing we did was take a picture of our class behind a fence. Then we headed for the woods! Our first stop was at the pond. In the pond there where geese and baby geese. :) So cute! There was mud near the pond, and lots of trees and tall grass. The sun was very bright too. I heard buses beeping while they were backing up at the bus garage. I also heard a train. (Choo-Choo) It felt very windy and cold outside. After stopping at the pond and after we all took our pictures and observations, we headed even deeper into the woods. All I saw was trees, leaves, twigs, and mud all around us. Then I saw a brown bird. He was little and cute. :) He was chirping. Then we kept walking, and we saw a tree that had lots of holes in it from a woodpecker. There was a lot of thorns...me and Ashleigh ran into them. ouch! Then we go to our last site...and we all see these huge birds flying in the sky, no one could catch a picture of them though. Then after our last observations, we headed back for the school, before we all froze.

site observations day one.

One day I walked outside, and I saw a tree with rocks around it and lots of leaves. There was also big roots and yucky mud, I stepped in it. :( But then I looked up because I heard a little bird chirping. He was cute! I was cold because it was raining at the moment and I was getting wet. But then I turned around and I saw lots and lots of tree's, it was pretty because i could see the sky through the tree's. Over in this area was also lots of leaves and mud. yucky! The closer I looked I saw broken down tree's...I guess they got tired or something? :) All of a sudden I heard and saw a big truck passing by. I also heard wind and the rain hitting the leaves. I was still cold. :( I walk around a little, and I see a couple of logs, a big tree, leaves, and more yucky mud. Behind the tree was a ditch/ long trench type thing. I heard leaves crackling around me, I think some kind of animal was around me. :) I still feel very cold, and still getting wet from the stupid rain. Then I went to one last spot, and I saw a huge bush, with lots of leaves around it. I heard rain dropping, and still that cute bird chirping. :) At this time I was still feeling very cold, and was still getting wet. So I went inside....I didn't want to catch a cold! :)
